This role requires a highly technical, hands-on leader who can manage multiple resources and projects while effectively partnering with business stakeholders in a highly ambiguous environment.
Qualifications

Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to scope, prioritize, and deliver complex data science and AI initiatives on time and within resource constraints. Outstanding PowerPoint and presentation skills required.
Strategic and Commercial Acumen: Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to translate AI/ML capabilities into measurable business value. Track record of delivering advanced analytics solutions that drive revenue growth, cost optimization, and competitive advantage.
Innovation Mindset: A strong track record of leveraging emerging AI technologies and data science methodologies to drive transformational business outcomes and establish competitive differentiation.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the beverage and alcohol manufacturing sector, including global market dynamics, consumer behaviors, regulatory constraints, and distribution complexities.

Advanced AI Specializations:Experience with multimodal AI systems, computer vision for product and marketing applications, LLMs for consumer insights, and advanced forecasting and optimization models.
Role Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy: Help define and execute the Data Science & AI strategy in alignment with corporate objectives. Lead and manage multiple Data Science resources across concurrent projects, providing direction, coaching, prioritization, and accountability for delivery.
Technical Excellence: Serve as a hands-on technical leader with strong programming capabilities. Drive the development of scalable Data Science solutions using Databricks, PySpark, Python, SQL, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Oversee data pipelines, machine learning models, ML Ops frameworks, and production deployments while establishing strong engineering practices including Git/GitHub, code reviews, unit testing, documentation, reproducibility, and CI/CD.
Product Recommendation & Advanced Analytics: Lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of product recommendation engines, next-best-product, next-best-action, ranking, and other decision-support solutions. Apply machine learning, statistical modeling, business rules, and commercial data to generate actionable recommendations and measurable business value.
Experimentation and Measurement: Design and lead A/B testing, test-and-control methodologies, experimental design, statistical analysis, and business impact measurement. Establish rigorous frameworks to quantify incremental sales impact, ROI, and effectiveness of Data Science solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders. Work effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to translate complex business problems into actionable Data Science opportunities. Strongly manage stakeholder expectations, communicate clearly, facilitate decisions, and maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Problem Definition and Delivery: Operate effectively in highly ambiguous environments with messy, incomplete, or fragmented data. Bring structure to loosely defined problems, assess data feasibility, define realistic scope and success criteria, and independently lead projects and workstreams from end-to-end with minimal managerial oversight.

The job is in Chicago, IL. Below is what the official statistics say about living and working there.
How Chicago compares. Among the 100 largest places in Illinois, Chicago is #1 by population, #96 for homeownership (#1 = highest), #87 for long commutes (#1 = fewest), #22 for remote work (#1 = most). Its county, Cook County, is #2 of 102 counties for average pay ($86,931).
Chicago has 2,711,226 residents (ACS 2020–2024), about 21.4% of the population of Illinois. It covers 228 square miles of land, which works out to roughly 11,904 people per square mile. The median age is 35.8, 8% younger than the state median (35.8 against 39.0).
The median gross rent is $1,440 a month (rent plus utilities), 13% above the state median ($1,440 against $1,274). Over a year that is 22.2% of the median household income. US housing guidance treats housing as affordable when it takes 30% of income or less, so the typical household is under that line. The median home value is $334,100, which is 4.3 times the median household income ($77,902). 46.0% of households own their home, 31% below the state average (46.0% against 67.1%). A low ownership share points to a rental-heavy market with more apartments and shorter stays.
The Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN metropolitan area has 4,513,280 jobs in the BLS wage survey, and the median pay across all occupations is $54,720 a year, 7% above the national median ($54,720 against $50,980). The biggest occupation groups are office and administrative support (488,940 jobs, median $48,840); transportation and material moving (484,580 jobs, median $45,920); management (404,010 jobs, median $131,890). The area is most specialised in management (1.2 times) and transportation and material moving (1.2 times), where the share of workers is above the national share. The best-paying groups with at least 5,000 jobs are management ($131,890) and legal ($112,440). In 2026M09 the unemployment rate of Cook County was 4.7%. 67.5% of residents aged 16 and over are in the labour force. The city lies in Cook County; its jobs, pay by industry and GDP are on the county page.
Among workers, 44.8% drive alone, 17.7% use public transit, 5.8% walk, 21.0% work from home. 27.5% of workers commute 45 minutes or more, 39% above the state average (27.5% against 19.7%). Remote work is more common than in the state as a whole, which widens the set of employers a resident can work for without moving.
44.3% of adults aged 25 and over hold a bachelor's degree or higher, 17% above the state share (44.3% against 37.9%). 20.9% of residents were born outside the United States, 42% above the state share (20.9% against 14.8%). The poverty rate is 16.8%, 43% above the state rate (16.8% against 11.8%).
The warmest month is Aug, averaging 73°F (22.6°C), and the coolest is Jan at 28°F (-2.5°C). About 981 mm (39 inches) of precipitation falls in a year; May is the wettest month (117 mm) and Jan the driest (48 mm). These values come from NASA satellite-based climatology on a grid of about 50 km, so they describe the wider area, not a weather station in the city.
Closest cities in this guide: Cicero (4 miles, rent 20% lower); Berwyn (5 miles, rent 16% lower); Oak Park (6 miles, rent 11% higher); Burbank (8 miles, rent 12% lower). Rent differences are against Chicago; use the Compare tab to put any two cities side by side.
