Work Arrangement:
Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Seattle, WA, Warren, MI or Milford, MI three times per week.
Leads GM's corporate software strategy for new technologies, complex features, and major program enhancements, providing technical leadership to execution teams for development and integration. Oversees comprehensive design analysis and leads integration and verification testing of software builds. Stays updated on new technologies and competitive products to define GM's strategic direction. Establishes and communicates best practices within the software community.
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific platforms or applications and actively participates in hiring, including developing technical questionnaires, reviewing resumes, and conducting interviews. Engages in projects eligible for patent applications and maintains visibility across infotainment teams and sites. Performs other related duties as assigned.
The Role
As a Staff Software Engineer - Automation Library Development at GM, you will define and deliver automation software library strategy and solutions enabling vehicle-level test automation across all systems and subsystems.
This role sits at the center of building a scalable automation ecosystem supporting the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), collaborating across engineering teams to modernize testing, validation, and integration practices.
