The Role
Your Role
We are seeking an experienced NSX Network / VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9.0) Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Python scripting, Ansible automation, and CI/CD pipelines to design, implement, and maintain scalable network automation solutions across enterprise environments.
At Kyndryl we support all major cloud platforms, so you'll get the chance to use everything you know - and then some. You'll also become expert at knowing when and how to call on other SMEs outside your wheelhouse. Thinking your way around pre-existing limitations will grow your creativity and flexibility.
What You Will Do
Network Automation: Design and maintain automation solutions using Python, Ansible, and PowerCLI for network and infrastructure operations.
Infrastructure Automation: Automate deployment, provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and operational workflows to reduce manual effort.
API & Platform Integration: Integrate network platforms and orchestration frameworks using REST APIs, NETCONF, and infrastructure programmability.
CI/CD & Compliance: Build CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment while enforcing network policies, security, and compliance standards.
VMware & Cross-Team Collaboration: Develop scalable automation frameworks and partner with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to optimize VMware environments.
Your future at Kyndryl
This role opens the door to many career paths, both vertical and horizontal, and there may be opportunity to travel. It's a great chance for database administrators or other techs to break into the cloud. It's also a solid path to become enterprise or chief architect or a distinguished engineer! Whatever you see for yourself, you'll find the opportunity here.
Who You Are
You're good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important - you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused - someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you're open and borderless - naturally inclusive in how you work with others.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 8+ years of experience is required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Automation & Scripting: Expertise in Python, Ansible, and PowerCLI for network and infrastructure automation.
VMware Technologies: Hands-on experience with NSX-T, VCF 9.0, vSphere, ESXi, micro-segmentation, and DFW.
Networking & APIs: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, Routing & Switching, REST APIs, and NETCONF.
DevOps & Security: Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure programmability, network security, and compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
VMware & Hybrid Cloud: Enterprise-scale VMware/NSX experience with automation and orchestration across hybrid cloud environments.
IaC & CI/CD: Experience with Infrastructure as Code and tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and Azure DevOps.
Monitoring & Automation: Expertise in network observability, monitoring, and automated remediation solutions.
Security & Certifications: Experience in regulated, security-focused environments; VCP, VCAP, VMware NSX, CCNP/CCIE, or Red Hat Ansible certifications are advantageous.

How to prepare and behave
This is editorial guidance, not information from the employer.
Read the whole description and match your examples to its requirements; use the same words the posting uses where they are true for you.
Research the employer before the interview: what it does, who its customers are and recent news; prepare two or three questions about the work.
Arrive early (or log in early for a video call), dress one step above the daily dress code, and test your camera and audio beforehand.
Answer with short stories: the situation, what you did and the result. Give numbers when you have them and never invent them.
Be honest about gaps; say what you did to learn and how fast you can close them.
Ask about the team, the first 90 days, how success is measured and the schedule; do not open with salary and time off.
When pay comes up, know the market range for the occupation and your lowest acceptable offer before you answer; ask for the full package in writing.
Send a short thank-you message within a day, mentioning one thing you discussed.
The listing mentions a remote or flexible location. Confirm with the employer whether remote work applies to your state: taxes, licensing and benefits can depend on where you live.
Have code, data work or projects you can show, and be ready to think aloud: many technical interviews test how you reason, not only the answer.
The listing is remote or has no US state we could identify. Read the country guide for pay, taxes, law and cost of living by state.
